overwintering dahlias

Traudy dear, this is how I overwintered OUR dahlia
bulbs... I put them in these crates to dry... but I never got to the
next step which was to save them in closed paper bags...
glup... I left them like this, in my garage, all winter.



Please tell me that I did not kill them...
